A comparable sewer-scope quote identifies the access point, camera run, deliverables, and any limits before work begins.
The base inspection
A provider inserts a camera through an accessible cleanout or another approved access point, records the main residential lateral, and reviews visible conditions. Many current providers include a video copy or a written summary, but the exact deliverable varies.
Confirm these items
- Maximum included footage and number of lines.
- Whether video is delivered after the visit.
- Whether written findings, still images, or a diagram are included.
- Whether locating and surface depth marks cost extra.
- What happens if the line cannot be accessed or fully traversed.
Usually separate
Toilet removal, roof access, additional branches, rush timing, travel, cleaning, hydro-jetting, repairs, and cleanout installation may be separate. Never assume a low camera price includes those services.
